Mission
In Dec, 2015 the city of Chennai, India face one of the worst floods ever. During the flood water entered homes and destroyed hundreds of beautiful silk sarees that can never be worn again. While many people sadly threw away beautiful silk sarees, we refused to throw out fabric woven with wonderful memories. We wanted to make something special out of these fabrics. Out of this desire was born Nyrvaana, a way to give eternal life to beautiful fabric...
Our 3 founders are women who care about the environment, love fabric made of natural fibre and absolutely adore hand made products. So that is what our products signify - hand made products made of recycled natural fiber fabric!
Through our social enterprise we hope to be able to provide women in India with a path to economic independence by providing employment. If you or your organization has access to women with basic sewing skills and are looking for work for them, do get in touch with us. We would like to partner with existing organizations and provide work opportunities to women.
We strive to live by the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
